Apple Ipad

Learn all about the Apple ipad here. Fun for you but even better if you have someone who has special needs in your life. They can use it to learn and communicate with just a touch.

So Why Do People Like Ipads?

There are so many things that you can do with this neat electronic gadget. To start with, you can watch movies, buy and read books, download your photos, watch videos, listen to music and make video phone calls. That's all the fun stuff.

But you can also tap into higher education. Listen to podcasts from some of the most prestigious colleges in the country. Listen to some of the best motivational speakers around. Check out things that interest you without ever leaving home. Heck, you can even use it as a note pad and take notes! You can bookmark things, highlight things and save any work that you do on it.

You can check your email and send email from the Apple ipad too. There is a calendar to keep track of things. You can do research with the ipad, check the weather, surf the web and make HD video recordings.

When you get your Apple ipad, it is ready to go!

There is no software to be downloaded. There are no cables to connect. It is Wi-Fi ready. You can take it with you and use it wherever you are!

You can send anything you want to print to the printer of your choice (that is a very cool feature). Depending on what you are doing on your ipad, you can rotate it from the portrait position to the landscape position, just by turning it in your hands.

Ipad Apps

It comes with many free apps. Apps are free programs for you to use. There are more than 140,000 apps currently available and many new ones on the horizon. You have the option of buying apps for a couple of bucks if they interest you.

No Big Deal...Or Is It?

My brother was so excited to share his new Apple ipad with me. But to tell you the truth, I thought it was just a gadget and didn't get excite when I first saw it. My home computer is more than adequate for email and surfing the web. My t.v. is great for watching movies and my Mp3 player is great meeting my music needs. My phone works and video phone calls look like fun but the truth be told, they didn't push my hot button.

How The Apple Ipad Struck A Cord With Me:

Win a Free iPad at 4allmemory.comA friend, who has an son who is on the autism spectrum, came over to show me how my son could benefit from the Apple ipad. She pulled up a writting app. She bought it for $1.99. She pulled up the letter "A" and sat next to my son.

My son, took his finger (or mine) and followed the instructions of tracing the letter A. The graphics were nothing short of amazing. The writing area is big enough (unlike on a phone) that he could do it. Much of the time he asked for my help. But for 45 minutes he used his finger (or mine) to trace upper and lower case letters and numbers from 1 to 20.

For me this was huge! My son will not hold a pencil for more than 2 minutes. And during that 2 minutes, I usually get stabbed or written on a couple of times! So for this electronic device to capture and hold his interest for 45 minutes was very remarkable. The only reason we quit was because my friend had to leave.

Since then we have explored many other apps to help my son learn. There are so many choices. The point is that the Apple ipad brought a new dimension to his ability to learn. Look, my son is 14 years old. He's very interested in the electronics that his brother and sister have (DS, console games and the like), but he has been too timid to get into them. He is more than happy to watch his siblings do electronics but backs off when we ask him to try. He likes the computer enough to do things on it but the touch screen is taking his interest to new heights.

So to have a device that is fun, age appropriate...for every age...and a learning device that will further his abilities is nothing short of fantastic! The ipads are easy to use. They are very responsive to just a light touch. The screens are large enough to work with our kids. The touch screen and graphics entice our kids to check it out.

It's an investment. Do I leave our son with the Apple ipad unattended? Absolutely not. Buy the time I bought the ipad, the protective case and the extended warranty I was in about $800. So it's not cheap. But worth every single penny.

My son is finally learning how to write, talking more and starting to read. Thank you Apple ipad makers! So if you have someone in your life that needs more opportunities to further their development or learn a basic skill such as reading and writing...please consider the Apple ipad. The graphics and ease of using one is simply amazing.

Ipad Perspective

Just a simple touch on the screen, a flick of the finger and learning comes alive. My son has used the mouse on a computer for years, yet wouldn't write with a pencil. He had no interest in reading, now he does. Put in perspective, its not that big of an investment to help someone gain wonderful, useful skills. It's so much more than an electronic gadget.

Please consider purchasing one below. Commissions made from these sales will be put toward buying an ipad for a child who would not otherwise have the opportunity to have one.
