Child Autism

Child autism disorder spectrum. No matter how we say it, we all need help getting through it. We cannot help our kids by ourselves. We need help, ideas and support from every good place we can find. We all want the very best of our off springs. It is scary when you think, "does my child have autism?"

God loves us and our kids. He loves that we are seeking Him for answers to helping our kids. Why do some children recover from their diagnosis and others do not? Does God love one child more than He loves another? No. God's healing has nothing to do with loving one person more than another.

There is a verse that promises that God will respond to our prayers. That verse is Palms 102:17-18. It says, "He will respond to the prayer of the destitute, he will not despise their plea."

We must abolish the thoughts God might answer our prayers. He will give us answers, hopefully someday, the answer that we want to hear. If our child autism has praying parents (which they do) and parents who are seeking answers from God (which we are) then we have every reason to believe that God will be faithful to us.

I believe having a son or a daughter with child autism or any kind of special needs is a test of fire. Who are we going to turn to? What kind of sacrifices are we willing to make? How much is too high of a price for us to pay in helping our offspring? We need to be strong enough to remind our hearts that God is allowing what has happened to our children for a reason. And that reason has a huge eternal purpose.

God is with you and me as we help our kids to overcome. And when we get so tired...just like Leona Lewis's song above, God will carry us. And we can see His footprints in the sand. I have been on this journey of recovering our son for 14 years

now and I promise you God has carried me. And He will carry you too. It's a Biblical promise from Him to you and me.

Want to know more? Then read pages 95 and 96 in my book, Finding God In Autism. Know matter who we are, God has wisdom to impart to us. That wisdom is ours for the asking, ours if we seek and most definitely ours to grab a hold of.

If your son or daughter is anywhere on the autism spectrum then you will be encouraged and lifted up by putting God into your treatment plan to recover your child. Don't put your emphasis on your child's missing milestones, put your emphasis on the ONE who can help you.
