Dear Kathy, God is Good always......I will confess that each and every day! Thank you for your great book! I run a parent organization for children with multiple disabilites. I am also on the Regional Autism Advisory Council for Southwest Ohio.

My son also has Autism and is 10 years old. I have gone through the journey you too are going through. I hired consultants doctors, and diets, therapy etc. However, the journey.. has come to an end.

This quest for me was to a deep need to know my son. He was in there he just had no way of speaking. God has given me the answer to my prayers.... I wanted to talk with my son. To know how he feels. Open ended communication... to know him.

Now I know his favorite color is white. He thinks he is cool and thinks his sister has good manners! He wanted to be a monster for Halloween. He wants to invent a house of water. He loves swimming. He told me that he wanted ice cream and he asked to not have to face his desk towards a wall because it makes him anxious.

I know how he is feeling. Ryan can not talk. He can say "ba" for bye and "ga" for go. However, Halo, (Helping Autism through Learning and Outreach) has truly given him his voice. You may have seen Soma on 60 Minutes several years back.

Dr. Patricia Manning is my sons developmental pediatrician at the Cincinati Children's Hospital. We went to see Soma after she sais my son Ryan can communicate. She went to the Clinic in Texas. We live in Ohio. We talk on a letterboard.

Within the next three years we should be well on our way to communicate via typing. I pray you receive this and go to one of her camps. It is 4 days, 2 40 minute/30 minute session per day. For $700.00 She is a non-profit organization. God has blessed me with this method and I wanted to bless you and your family. It is a neuro-science based approach.

Have sent 4 parents this year and our OT from Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She went on her own. ALL are SHOCKED at the results. She has a website and a published a manual. www.halo-soma.org.
