About The Author Kathy Medina

Hi, my name is Kathy Medina. I live with my husband, Glenn and our three children Jake, Zack and Lexi. I live in Clovis, California. I am a graduate of Fresno Pacific Bible College. After college, I was a successful Life Insurance Agent for fifteen years with American United Life. I quit the work force to take care of my three children and home school our son, Zack.

Zack was diagnosed with Autism and Neurofibromatosis at age two and a half. He was in public education for two and a half years. Unsuccessful with our local schools, we pulled Zack out and began home schooling him. We did Lovaas for just more than three years. An intense 40 hours a week, one on one way of teaching him. Then, we switched to the SonRise program. (This was another home school program that just never set well with me.) We did this for two and a half years. After SonRise I found the home school program that was an answer to our prayers! RDI (Relationship Development Intervention). We have been doing RDI with Zack since 2005.

At thirteen years old, Zack has made great progress by doing nine years of home schooling, seven years of chelation, dietary supplements, diet intervention, sensory integration, vision therapy, auditory training, occupational therapy, saunas, speech therapy, cranio-sacral therapy and hyperbaric oxygen treatments. All totalled, Zack is on the road to recovering from autism.

It is my prayer and my hope to encourage other parents who are on the same road as I am. It is my intention that this website will not only encourage parents but to educate those who are are dealing with a new diagnosis. I am always adding to this website. I want to share what I have learned about the possible causes of autism, how to keep your hope intact, your faith strong and encourage you to never give up the fight in recovering your child.

Many people have asked, "Kathy Medina, how did you built this website?" After I wrote my book, Finding God In Autism I wanted my own website. I hired someone to do this for me but it did not work out to well...if I wanted it done right, then I needed to learn to do this myself. I was blessed to stumble upon Site Build It! (or SBI for short)

SBI taught me everything that I needed to build a website. My book is in Barnes and Noble Book Stores, in my Ebay store and all the DOT.COMS. (And of course, my book maybe bought right here on this website.) But I wanted my own website. SBI has been a great fit! Anyone can do SBI...I promise! If you have an expertise in any area or a passion then turn it into a website and earn money. The money I earn allows us to do more treatments for our son.

To help our son, Zack, overcome autism, we needed to try several treatments and therapies on him. None covered by our insurance plan. To earn money for treatments, supplements and therapies I needed to bring in an income. I needed to work from home. I wanted to do something that I would love, without leaving my husband and kids behind. Building websites has now become a passion of mine!

When I started with SBI all that I knew how to do was open up my email and Google for information. That's it. SBI taught me, Kathy Medina, everything I now know. And SBI can teach YOU everything that you need to know. You can design your own website templet or do like I do and just plug your knowlege into one of the many templets that they provide.

They teach you how to get your site found by the search enginees. They have free forums to go to to ask questions. They have great videos to watch and learn or if you chose, you can read the information in the form of an ebook.

Now that I know how to build a website, I am building them for other people as well. I built a site for a local hair salon called, Bella Capellis. I am currently working on two websites for local dentists. And I never went out looking for work...people came to me. What a blessing. More money to help Zack on his road to recovery.

I have two websites. It can be found at SeeYosemite.com. Since we go to Yosemite National Park at least once a month, it was a natural fit to tell others what I know about this beautiful place! Advertisers pay me to place their ads on that site...another way to earn money for treatments for Zack. SBI showed me how easy it is to get advertisers!
