Without a doubt, autism is at epidemic proportions. Autism causes are unkown at this time. There is strong evidence that vaccines play a role in being a trigger. There is also strong evidence that things in our enviroment are triggers. The degrees to which children are affected goes from mild to severe. Do genes play a role? Absolutely. But it is impossible to have an genetic epidemic.

The reality is that the early years are the hardest for families. We had no history of autism in our family tree. Yet I hear there are gentic causes of autism. Before I had a handle on our sons gfcf diet and figured out how to get supplements into him, I was floundering. I did not know quite what foods to feed him. All I knew was the food in my pantry was acting like a poison to his body. Wrong foods in our son, led to tantrums that lasted for hours, uncontrollable crying, odd behaviors, biting, flapping of the arms and he was spaced out. It was so hard because he craved all the wrong foods that his body could use. But, I do believe that the future holds promises for a cure.

The Autism Statistics can wipe out your hope. They can paralize you. You can get so over whelmed that you actually do nothing. But that is the wrong response. I was paralized by our sons diagnosis for 1 1/2 years. Then, I got my act together and joined in the fight to recover our son.

God led us to a great Defeat Autism Now doctor. He has helped immeasurably with bio medical treatments. To get our son chemically balanced was no small feat. God led me to books to read on diet interventions and to moms who were going through the same thing I was going through.

Scriptures are ours to claim. When we read, memorize and meditate upon them, they will restore our hope. Know that you are not in this autism war alone. God is here to help us walk through to a better place. We just have to keep on seeking God. Think about the place God will put you when you come out of this trial. Do not dwell on the autism statistics, it doesn't change a thing to do so. And make no mistake, you and I will recover our children!
